CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The beneficiary of this year's TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K will be Day One, a non-profit agency providing substance abuse prevention, intervention, treatment and aftercare programs for Maine youth.
Based in South Portland, Day One targets substance abuse at all stages with a range of programs including residential treatment at its transitional house, youth development, school services, outpatient services and support groups.
Through the TD Charitable Foundation, TD Bank will donate $30,000 to Day One. The organization also will benefit from fundraising activities and publicity.
The 14th annual TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race is set for Saturday, Aug. 6.
The road race, held in Cape Elizabeth, is one of Maine's premiere sports events and one of the most popular race on the U.S. circuit, drawing 6,000 runners from throughout the region and world.
