It's a new year with new goals to set. The 2012 race season is already getting started with endless possibilities to challenge you. On this Fit at Five we check out the benefits of joining a club to train for an event. These women are not only gaining new friendships, but gaining confidence as well.
The woman's social club sheJAMS is now in it's third season in helping women train to cross the finish line. The four founders of sheJAMS, all certified triathlon coaches, realized that most women don't want to train for these events alone. The club has truly taken off and now has over 100 members from all across the state. There is a fee to join the club, but there are perks to being a member. With the membership you get discounts on clothing, wetsuits, and have access to the training groups.
SheJAMS is also putting together their first obstacle course race this summer for both men and women to participate in. It's called the Dynamic Dirt Challenge held on June 3rd at Pineland Farms. We have included links to the sheJAMS page along with the race event page for more information.
