Washington was sworn into office in 1789. His last tooth was extracted in 1796, a year before his second term ended.

The legend about him wearing wooden dentures is false.  While he did own at least eight pairs of false teeth throughout his life, none of them were made of wood.  They were made instead from a combination of actual human teeth, cows' teeth and elephant ivory.
